Marathon Digital Launches Anduro, a Bitcoin Layer 2 Network
Public Bitcoin mining giant, Marathon Digital, enters the Bitcoin Layer 2 conversation
Hello Bitcoiners,
Welcome back to the Bitcoin Builders Association newsletter.
A lot is happening in the Bitcoin builder ecosystem — this newsletter aims to help you find some signal in the noise.
Let’s get right into it.
Marathon Digital Holdings, a major player in the Bitcoin mining ecosystem, introduces Anduro, a multi-chain Bitcoin Layer 2 network.
Bitcoin Layers are a hot topic in the Bitcoin ecosystem. Bitcoiners are launching projects to bring new scaling solutions to Bitcoin in addition to Lightning.
Marathon has entered the conversation. Like many Bitcoin Layer 2 solutions, Anduro aims to bring programmability to Bitcoin. With programmability, Marathon hopes to promote the development and adoption of Bitcoin and ultimately strengthen incentives behind Bitcoin’s Proof-of-Work.
Bitcoin Adoption
Strike’s CEO Jack Mallers announces that Strike is coming to Africa. Users will have access to many Bitcoin and Lightning services, like “local fiat on and off-ramps, the ability to buy and sell Bitcoin and USDT, cross-border payments, and more.”
The Bitcoin ETF is performing well. Very well. ETF volume hit a record volume of $7.6B earlier this week.
But it’s not all good news. Coinbase dropped native Bitcoin payments from merchants’ platform. Shoppers on Coinbase Commerce “will still be able to use Bitcoin if they have an account with the exchange.”
Bitcoin Building
